Long known for work spaces that inspire mental gymnastics, Google Pittsburgh has raised the bar with a 45,000 square-foot office in the old Nabisco factory on Penn Avenue. More than 150 employees (those lucky ducks) are bouncing around the bright, industrial-sized space, with open work stations and a candy bar and cafeteria serving a healthy buffet. You can even get a free breakfast, take a yoga class or get a massage for a small fee. The Bakery Square offices with Google was featured in POP City this week. What sort of progress did your company make over the summer and fall?Provided that our platform effectively engages the key parties within a community — namely residents, property managers and retailers — our market research has involved extensive testing and market validation with the aforementioned groups. Over the summer, our team was involved in interviewing property managers from Oakland, Shadyside and Squirrel Hill to learn about the challenges they face with tenant management. Bakery Square receives Platinum LEEDS certification

LEEDS Platinum status (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Green Building Rating System) was awarded to the Bakery Square offices. This certification is voluntary and awarded to green commercial or residential buildings and is an internationally recognized system. It states that a building or community was designed and built based on “energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction and improved indoor environmental quality.”
