T Station Expands Travel on North Shore and Offers Free Rides!



Heading to the North Side of Pittsburgh anytime soon? Thanks to a funding agreement between the Pittsburgh SteelersRivers Casino and Port Authority the "T" will be offering a Free Fare Zone along the North Side of Pittsburgh for easy access to Heinz Feild, and the Rivers Casino.

A funding agreement between the Pittsburgh SteelersRivers Casino and Port Authority—brokered by Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald—will provide free rides on the T light rail system between downtown Pittsburgh and Allegheny Station.

The three-year agreement with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Rivers Casino will extend the T’s Free Fare Zone to Allegheny Station when it opens on March 25. The light rail vehicle station is located near Heinz Field and Rivers Casino on the North Shore.
